I think that gender history is not accurately represented in history curriculum. Since Middle School, so many females I've learned about in history were seen as crazy. Dictatorial. Insane. I actually wrote a research paper in seventh grade about an "Evil" Empress from Ancient China, Empress Wu. She was seen as maniacal and evil, but she did the only thing a woman could do to gain power. This really stuck with me because I have noticed this pattern of calling powerful women "crazy" all throughout my history classes and in modern media. I think we need a new perspective of women in history for more accurate representation.
